Week 5

I began modeling the fingers, as they are one of the most important components of the project. I spent a significant amount of time researching and watching tutorial videos, and was eventually able to successfully create the finger structures.

I completed the first and second prints of the model, which led me to realize that material selection plays a significant role in the final outcome. Initially, I used PLA, a rigid material that works well for smaller components but is relatively brittle and prone to breaking when used for larger structures. As a result, I decided to switch to TPU, a flexible and highly durable material. I believe TPU is better suited for the hand component, as it can withstand stress and reduce the risk of breakage.

This is much better. It is not easy to break and still provides enough tension to remain flexible, making it ideal for my phone stand since friction is necessary to hold the device securely. In contrast, PLA would not be able to support or grip the phone effectively.
